Background

Discussing Global Festivals
With the revival of festivals and conventions post-pandemic, a new wave of hybrid and integrated events is emerging. These events are exploring innovative directions and concepts to meet the evolving expectations of consumers. This conference will feature keynote presentations and discussions centered on global festival trends, addressing the needs of a transformed world.

Challenges and Opportunities for Festival SHIWOL
As the first and largest festival of its kind in Korea, Festival SHIWOL represents an ambitious initiative. The conference will serve as a platform to gather insights from stakeholders about the festival’s long-term development strategy and its potential to position Busan as a global cultural hub.

Busan’s Fusion of Entertainment and Business: Festival SHIWOL
marks a significant milestone for Busan, with participation in 17 international events across six different sectors. New projects aimed at establishing Busan as a global hub city will be launched, and the festival will run from September 30 to October 8, focusing on the Haeundae district and covering the entire city.

Swan Kim Electric Jazz Trio
Performing together with the 2024 Busan Festival Shiwol ESG!

A new stage "Heart, △□○" will be presented through a cool electric jazz trio, together with Busan.

Swan Kim

Swan Kim has collaborated with numerous jazz legends, including Lou Hayes, Billy Hart, and Ray Drummond.
He is currently a leading professor in the jazz program at Seoul National University of Arts, specializing in vocal jazz.
Additionally, he teaches at Ewha Womans University College of Music.
Additionally, he teaches at Ewha Womans University College of Music.
Kim continues to shape the future of jazz as a professor at Seoul National University of Arts and Whisung Conservatory.

Electric Bass,
James Atkinson

Atkinson has graced the stages of major jazz festivals both in Korea and abroad.
He holds a degree in bass performance from the prestigious Adelaide Conservatorium in Australia.
Atkinson currently serves as a professor at Dongduk Women's University in the Applied Music Department, as well as a guest lecturer.

Drums,
Christian Moran

Christian Moran, a UK-born drummer from Birmingham, began his jazz journey at the age of 10.
Over the years, he has performed in jazz hotspots such as New York, the UK, and across Europe, alongside renowned musicians like Richard Strauss and others.
